The Hachijo Visitor Center serves as the visitor entrance to the nature of Hachijojima. It is located within Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park for the purpose of displaying and explaining information about the nature of Hachijojima in a way that is easy for visitors to understand.
At the visitor center, information about the nature of Hachijojima is presented in a variety of formats, such as photographic displays, voice-over guidance, a computer Q&A corner, and beautiful videos screened in our video presentation room. Please stop by to see us!

The visitor center is a 576 m2 (6,200 ft2) reinforced concrete structure, containing an exhibition hall, a video presentation room, and an office. - Location:

Program Guidance
Our Nature Interpreters (guides) introduce visitors to the nature of Hachijojima, and help everyone to enjoy the time they spend in nature.
Regular Programs
- Guided walks
Guided walks begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. Our Nature Interpreters provide guided walks in the area around Hachijo Botanical Park, during which they explain topics related to nature. - Video screenings
Screenings are held every day of videos that introduce seasonal nature and ways to enjoy nature.- 10:00 a.m., 4:00 p.m.: "Creatures of the Sea"
- 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m.: "Seasons, People, and Nature"
Other Programs
We also provide monthly public lectures and other activities.
Facilities
The Hachijo Visitor Center was built with a motif inspired by Hachijojima. Inside the visitor center, you can view exhibits and hear explanations about a variety of nature and culture, including the wildlife of Hachijojima. You can also watch videos in our video presentation room.
