Features of Toshima Island

Beautiful, rich nature including about 200,000 Camellia trees
Toshima Island is located about 140 km (87 miles) south of Tokyo. It is about 8 km (5 miles) around and is 4.12 km (2.6 miles) in area. Because it is surrounded by cliffs rather than sandy beaches, its beautiful nature has been preserved. The whole island is covered with camellia about 200,000 trees. Camellia flowersbloom on the islands in winter. In the summer Lilium auratum var. Platyphyllum brings large pure white blossoms and makes the hearts of visitors peaceful. If the weather is clear, you can see many constellations and the Milky Way with the naked eye, and a star full of stars spreading over the sky is also attractive.
