Accessing Chichijima Island

You can get to Chichijima Island only by a regular liner called “Ogasawaramaru”. The ship leaves Tokyo’s Takeshiba Pier at 11:00 and arrives at Chichijima’s Futami Port at 11:00 in the next morning after 24 hours. Normally, it operates approximately once a week. During Golden week holidays, from late July to August and New year holidays, it operates approximately three times a week. To prevent Ogasawara from invading new non-native species, be sure to check whether insects, plant seeds and soils are not found in your luggage, clothes and shoes before boarding from Takeshiba. Also, please be careful when bringing pets and potted plants, etc.
