Widlife of Mukojima Island

Albatrosses (Mukojima Islands)
Black-footed albatrosses and Laysan albatrosses inhabit Mukojima Island and Torishima Island (belonging to Mukojima Island), and black-footed albatrosses inhabit Nakodojima and Yomejima Islands. Although there used to be albatrosses in this area, none had been seen for a long time. Chicks were brought from Torishima Island of the Izu Islands to restore the breeding site in Ogasawara between 2008 and 2012. Through these efforts, breeding of albatrosses has been confirmed in Mukojima, Nakodojima, and Yomejima Islands.
